Eligibility Criteria for Ph.D. Admission in SPU

  • Master's Degree Requirement: The applicant should hold a master's degree (or equivalent) in the subject concerned with 55% marks (or equivalent grade).
  • Relaxation for Reserved Categories: 5% marks relaxation will be granted for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/PWD categories following government guidelines.
  • M.Phil. Degree Holders: Some candidates who have passed M.Phil. are permitted a waiver of courses or direct admission, as specified by university norms.
  • NET/JRF/SLET Qualified: Some of the candidates who have qualified for UGC-NET, JRF, or SLET are exempted from writing the entrance test.
  • Professional Degrees: Candidates with professional degrees like CA, CS, ICWA, and equivalents can also apply in respective fields.
