7th Convocation Ceremony of SPU held at Chintan Bhawan, Gangtok
GANGTOK, 23 December 2023:129 students of Sikkim Professional University (SPU) received their degrees, in various graduate, post graduate academic programs and Diploma during the 7thConvocation of the University held at Chintan Bhawan, Gangtok on 23rd December 2023.
129 Students from all constituent colleges of SPU namely Sikkim Professional College of Allied Health Sciences (SPCAHS); Sikkim Professional College of Pharmacy (SPCOP); Sikkim Professional College of Nursing (SPCON), Sikkim Professional College of Arts and Science (SPCAS) were given degree. The rank holders amongst the students of various courses were awarded with 8 gold medals, 7 silver medals and 5 bronze medals

Cancer Awareness Programme Held at Sikkim Professional University
Cancer Awareness Programme Held at Sikkim Professional University. On this occasion, students of the University organized a poster presentation regarding cancer and its prevention. The posters provide awareness among students, regarding the types of cancer, early symptoms, diagnostic methods and preventive methods, and motivate them to avoid habits that increase the risk of cancer.
Republic Day Celebrated at Sikkim Professional University with Gaiety and Patriotic Fervour
Sikkim, 26 January 2023: The 74th Republic Day of India was celebrated with gaiety and patriotic fervour at Sikkim Professional University amidst the foggy morning of 26th January, 2023.The ceremony took place in the presence of the Vice Chancellor, Deans and HoDs of various departments, faculty, staff members and students. The ceremony commenced with the unfurling of the National Flag by the Vice Chancellor. This was accompanied by the rendition of National Anthem led by the University’s Music Club. The programme moved forward with an incredible display of parade by the National Cadet Corps(NCC) cadets and mesmerizing cultural events that enhanced the grace of the festival manifold. In addition, the heartfelt renditions of patriotic songs aroused feelings of love and brotherhood among all.
Subhas Chandra Bose Jayanti Celebration at Sikkim Professional University
Sikkim, 23 January 2023: Subhas Chandra Bose, lovingly known as Netaji by his followers, was one of the most important revolutionary freedom fighters in the Indian freedom movement. Every year Subhas Chandra Bose Jayanti is celebrated on his birth date, January 23. His birthday is also officially known as Parakram Divas since 2021.Subhash Chandra Bose Jayanti celebrated with gaiety and patriotic fervour at Sikkim Professional University on 23 January 2023. The eminent personalities and the educationists inaugurated the Jayanti by lighting the lamps before Maa Saraswati and Subash Chandra Bose. On this occasion, several cultural programmes organized where students paid tribute to Subhas Chandra Bose through the heartfelt renditions of patriotic songs.
SPCOPS of SPU Received India Book of Records for “Smallest Human Capsule” formed to Spread Awareness on Generic Medicines
The record for forming the smallest human capsule to spread awareness on generic medicines was set by the Sikkim Professional College of Pharmaceutical Sciences (SPCOPS), Sikkim Professional University (SPU) of Gangtok, Sikkim. A total number of 70 Sikkim Professional College of Pharmaceutical Sciences (SPCOPS) students of SPU formed a human capsule on December 9, 2022 at the campus to spread awareness on generic medicines.
The India Book of Records, as confirmed this record on January 3, 2023 and send the record to the Sikkim Professional College of Pharmaceutical Sciences (SPCOPS), Sikkim Professional University (SPU) on 13-02-2023.
On this achievement the Registrar, Prof. Ramesh Kumar Rawat, Principal, Sikkim Professional College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Dr. Suraj Sharma, all teaching and non-teaching staff of various constituent colleges of Sikkim Professional University congratulated to all Sikkim Professional College of Pharmaceutical Sciences (SPCOPS) students and faculty members for this achievement.
Sikkim Professional University held its 6th convocation ceremony on 12 November 2022, after two years
In the convocation ceremony, the University offered a total of 123 degrees to its students who graduated from various academic programs offered by the University. 𝐊𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐚 𝐍𝐢𝐦𝐚 𝐋𝐞𝐩𝐜𝐡𝐚 and SPU #Chairman 𝐇𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐊𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐫 𝐆𝐨𝐲𝐚𝐥 attended the programme as the Chief Guest, they expressed their view toward modern education as a speech at convocation and congratulated students with inspiring words.

Sixth Convocation Ceremony at SPU
Sikkim Professional University (SPU) celebrated its sixth convocation on 12 November 2022. On convocation day 123 students received their degree. The degrees were offered in presence of faculty, staff, students, parents and eminent dignitaries like Education Secretary D.C. Nepal, MLA Sunita Gajmer, SPU Chairman Hemant Kumar Goyal, vice chancellor (in-charge) Prof. Jaswant Sokhi were present in the convocation ceremony. The honorable Education Minister of Sikkim, Mr. Kunga Nima Lepcha attended the convocation ceremony as Chief Guest, he shared a few words as speech at the convocation and congratulated students with inspiring words.
